As you know, I spent this past weekend in Cleveland for the Sports Media 360 conference. In addition to a wonderful exchange of ideas on Saturday, the trip was highlighted by my first ever Browns tailgate and game.
Unfortunately, the game sucked…but the tailgating was predictably awesome, featuring an endless supply of decorative vehicles like the one you see pictured.
It also featured belligerent drunk guys getting arrested, men wearing jerseys and no pants, bald guys with their faces painted bright orange, a guy in a Browns-colored Spider-Man outfit, a far greater number of good looking women than I would have expected, and plenty of actual dogs.
It was also a hell of a lot of fun and all I needed to experience to know why so many Browns fans keep coming back on Sundays despite the putrid product on the field.
I had planned on putting together a photo slideshow with some of the pictures I took, but am running a bit behind on time with some other responsibilities pressing.
Luckily Sarah Spain, one of the featured guests of Sports Media 360, already put a great photo diary together of the weekend. I’ve embedded it below for you viewing pleasure.
And keep your eyes peeled on Cleveland Frowns, who helped plan the tailgate, and who spent half his day chasing down the best photos he could find. I’ve seen Frowns’ photo gallery work before and it’s always impeccable.
He will no doubt have a great photo gallery of the day up soon.
In the meantime, watch Sarah’s and enjoy…and definitely plan on spending at least one Sunday morning in the Muni Lot at some point in your life. It was awesome.
