If World Series betting seems too far away, unpredictable or extreme for you, no problem; let’s stick with ole faithful and make some NFL picks for Week 7.
Indianapolis Colts @ St. Louis Rams
Sunday, October 25, 1:00 p.m. ET
Online betting favorite: Colts -13
Before we take our chances later in this parlay, it’s prudent to anchor our picks with a total lock, and the Colts are that lock. Peyton Manning and the Indy passing game have torn apart much better defenses than the Rams’ – and pretty much every defense in the NFL is better than the Rams’. It’s tough to imagine anything less than 300 yards and a few scores from Manning. The Colts are also playing decent enough defense, especially against the pass, so they should make life miserable for Marc Bugler. Dwight Freeney hopes to return this week to boost the pass rush and Bob Sanders may even rejoin the lineup. This game will get very ugly very quickly.
NFL betting pick: Colts -13
New Orleans Saints @ Miami Dolphins
Sunday, October 25, 4:15 p.m. ET
Online betting favorite: Saints -6.5
Beware the shocker special! After the Saints dismantled the powerhouse Giants last week, it makes no sense to pick Miami to beat them, right? Not so fast. The Saints beat a Giants team that was soft after playing three cupcake matchups leading up to that game. Now they hit the road to face a Dolphins team on a high after beating the Jets and fresh off a bye. As much as the Saints’ improved pass rush under Gregg Williams deserves all its positive press, Rex Ryan’s Jets blitz more than anyone. Chad Henne and the Dolphins handled Gang Green just fine through expert use of the wildcat offense and may do the same at home to the Saints. Drew Brees should amass some nice passing yardage but Saints won’t run the ball too well, as Miami’s rush defense is quite effective. Go with the Dolphins to at least beat the spread.
NFL betting pick: Dolphins +6.5
Arizona Cardinals @ New York Giants
Sunday, October 25, 8:20 p.m. ET
Online betting favorite: Giants -7
On the national stage this Sunday night, it’s redemption time for the Giants. They’re angry and their pride is wounded after the Saints beat them badly last week. In Week 7, they have an advantageous matchup against the Cardinals. We know teams can pass on Arizona, so Eli Manning should be fine. Also, Kurt Warner and the Cardinals don’t usually play well in cold weather. The Giants’ pass rush will work hard to rebound from last week and pressure Kurt Warner. Don’t be surprised if New York wins big. Between the Giants and the Yankees’ World Series odds, things are looking up for N.Y. teams.
NFL betting pick: Giants -7
