Great news from the sports world late tonight: the peephole perv who videotaped Erin Andrews in her hotel room, and then released the videos online, has been arrested. TMZ broke the story tonight (hat tip to The Big Lead).
It’s late and I’m about to head to bed, so I’ll let you click the above links to learn more about Michael David Barrett (who I’m assuming is not the same Michael Barrett as the renowned sucker punch artist and former Cub).
Needless to say, it’s great news that they finally found this perverted, sick bastard. Stephen Douglas, aka Cousins of Ron Mexico, put it best on The Big Lead tonight:
What a creep. May his fellow inmates violate his peep hole.
Amen. On behalf of Midwest Sports Fans, screw you Michael David Barrett.
Most importantly, hopefully this helps Erin Andrews — a truly great sideline reporter in my estimation — move past this misery. I’m sure it will be hard for her to ever completely move past it, but at least now (if Barrett does, in fact, prove to be guilty) she’ll know that this particular twisted schmuck is no longer lurking.
