Bears Acquire Adams From Bucs, Face Falcons Sunday
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded Gaines Adams to the Bears for a 2010 2nd round draft pick.
Adams had been a ‘07 1st round draft pick from Clemson, but he did not meet the expectations the Bucs had for him.
In five games this season Adams has 14 tackles and one sack. Adams will likely play against the Falcons Sunday because defensive linemen Anthony Adams and Israel Idonije are dealing with injuries, but the Bears still need to cut a man from their roster to make room for Gaines Adams.
It’s unclear to me how this will work out for the Bears. They gave up a 2nd round pick for Adams so that tells me they have some high expectations for him. Maybe a different team will spark the fire under Adams.
The Bears play the Falcons Sunday night at 7:20pm cst. The defense will have to be up to par against this powerful Falcons offense, lead by 2nd year QB Matt Ryan. Bears’ fans are hoping to see Cutler get it done this game. He has done so well the last 3 games, only throwing 1 interception after that horrid opening game against the Packers.
