@Jaclyn,

I am sure that you are a lovely person, and I would guesstimate that if a friend from Indy was visiting you in Bloomington that you would be a wonderful a gracious host...but let's snap back to reality here.

Sam Bradford had the opportunity to make $41 million guaranteed. That's what this year's #1 pick Matt Stafford is making. $41 million GUARANTEED! Whether he sucks or not. That is the most guaranteed money EVER for an NFL player...let alone a draft pick.

Now, there will be questions about Bradford's durability. And he may struggle when he comes back, leaving a bad taste in teams' mouths. He could always go back to school and get a degree, but he may have only had one shot to get a #1 pick contract and set up the next two generations of his family forever.

That's just crazy.

He did an admirable thing in coming back...and selfishly, I'm glad he did. It makes college football more exciting. But his best interests and those of his family would have been served by "striking while the iron is hot" as they say. You never know when that iron is going to cool off. For his sake, I hope that it doesn't. But he assumed a lot of risk by coming back to school, and unfortunately, it doesn't look like he'll see the reward.

I'll tell you this: story #1: He should FINISH college to have another option. Perhaps he could use the money he made in pro sports but I think advanced courses such as finances may help him make the right choices. So I guess I compromise- he doesn't need to finish but always have options and a way to get there "just in case".
