The Brady Quinn Era is Over

Just about 30 minutes ago, Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini (or as one fan calls him, "Mangina", apologies to the ladies), announced that after two and a half games, starter Brady Quinn is now the back-up quarterback. Mangini said Derek Anderson would start against the Cincinnati Bungals on Sunday.

Here we go again!

Is there any reason why Quinn shouldn't just empty his locker and toss his play-book at Mangini as he walks out of the door? On second thought, this may be the best thing to happen to Quinn. Get out of Cleveland. Some other coach must give him a chance. Sorry, but you wasted three years of your short-lived (except for Brett Favre, of course) football life.

Cleveland fans are emailing and texting local sports radio programs. Stay tuned to midwestsportfans.com for the latest.

I share your frustration MW, and struggle to find any positives to grasp onto...but I'm really trying. I didn't like the hire at the time, but tried to get behind it once it happened. I've always been someone who thinks a coach should get at least a year to fully integrate his system. It's hard to do, but I'm trying not to pass total judgment yet. There are still 13 games on the schedule, and perhaps the team can show some level of improvement?

Doubtful, I know...but at least holding out some level of hope makes it a little easier to pick myself up and trudge out to Browns Backers on Sundays.

There are a lot of coaches already on the hot seat...but such is life in the NFL. Mangini, Zorn, Fox, etc. I can't imagine having a job that is so pressure-packed and week-to-week.

Then I guess you saw Carolina let Dallas waltz into the endzone untouched.... twice. Fire John Fox.
