This is indeed a classy thing for OSU to do. HOWEVER, THEY ARE FAR FROM THE FIRST PROGRAM TO DO IT. Notre Dame has been giving tribute to the service academies for years, particularly after 9/11.

For example, when playing Navy, the coaches will take the players to Navy's sideline while the Midshipmen's alma mater is played. After the game, the ND players gather and raise their helmets in tribute to Navy, facing their team. Only then do they go over the show tribute to the student section.

So, while I also hope more teams/schools do this, OSU is not the first. I don't think Tressel ever claimed that they are, but I know alot of OSU fans who are implying this...

P.S. Not dissing OSU, just giving the facts...

I think that this a class move. Yes, the service academies will never be a sports powerhouse but they are defending our freedoms that we enjoy in this great country. As a veteran who served ten years all over this great earth I can tell you that one thing that always brought a smile was sports. So, as a Longhorn fan I will also never truly like Ohio State but I will just hate them a little less.

Food for thought. Rose Bowl Texas vs. Michigan observation. Even after losing the Michigan fans displayed good sportsmanship. They gave the Texas football team a standing ovation. Even tailgating and walking around the game they were great.

Just for the record. I am a convert Saluki who married a Longhorn. Who would you go with when it is football season?

I thought so.
