@Peter Christian,

I'm shocked that I'm only now hearing about the RickRoll thing. How did I miss this?

I still have to give the edge to Journey. Maybe it's the nostalgia of 2005 as a Sox fan that makes me lean that way, but I just can't give Rick Astley (clearly a massive tool) the edge over Steve Perry (also a tool, but Don't Stop Believing was the official song of the World Series White Sox).

First, great analysis. Both of these songs/videos go down as all-time greats. Another tidbit to pass along, according to Pop Up Video, the guy who was the bartender in the Astley video was apparently supposed to be one of the main dancers in the video but was so hungover that he could barely move so they gave him that role instead, which explains some of the sour looks on his face. With that info, does Astley surpass the Journey standby "Seperate Ways"?

Note: my wife and I RickRolled our wedding party by making it the song that the entire wedding party jams to kick off our reception.
