I don't know much about Beckham, about his personality, and how grounded he may or may not be -- although I've heard nothing but positives about -- but one thing we know about Ozzie is that he will give the young kid a chance to play (like Alexei last year) while making sure he remembers that he's a rookie and hasn't proven anything yet. I personally think that ability is one of Ozzie's great strengths as a manager. If Dusty Baker was managing the White Sox, I'd be terrified at the thought of Beckham being promoted. Also the sarcastic Ozzie Guillen sound bytes about Beckham are hilarious. Besides saying the Sox are going to have to be in big trouble if "Bacon" is called up, he was calling him the savior and saying he will have to drink some vodka last night just so he can sleep with all the excitement for Beckham. I think he can handle the promotion and will improve the offense immediately. Obviously we have to keep our expectations somewhat in check, but there's no doubt it's exciting.
