@Karl, thanks Karl. And now that we have done the online equivalent of patting eachother on the ass, and you have confirmed my suspicions of your Cubs fandom, we can digress into typical Sox-Cubs hatred.

You can resume being arrogant, aloof, and completely removed from reality by entertaining thoughts of playoff success...and I can resume being weighed down by the massive chip of jealousy on my shoulder at all of the Cubs love nationwide and unnecessarily try to parade the White Sox 2005 World Series around like we're the second coming of the Yankees.

Ah...that's more like it.

Can't wait for the Sox-Cubs series this year. It's 33-33 so far in Interleague play, and neither of our teams can hit. We could be in store for some low scoring games, but regardless, they will be exciting.

@JRod,
Thanks for the kind words about the site. I am one of those suffering souls known as a Cubs fan. To be perfectly honest, the thought of Peavy going South made me throw up a little. One of the beautiful things about baseball is the intensity of the rivalries. Well that, and the moment when Michael Barrett's fist crashed into A.J.'s chin. I still think fondly on that moment in my more depressed moments and it never fails to cheer me up.

I think you have a good site here.

@Karl, although I will say this about Pierzysnki: every time I see him try to throw out a runner trying to steal - and fail 99.9% of the time - I want to do this to him:

@Karl, I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or if you simply hate AJ Pierzynski and the White Sox. I will assume the former, because if you came in here dissing AJ...them's fightin' words.

BTW...clicked over to the blog and it's extremely well done. Not sure our politics are exactly the same, and obviously us White Sox fans have a certain special place in our hearts for President Obama regardless of whether we agree with him politically, but thanks for providing the link. Links to new sources of well thought out writing and discourse is always appreciated.

Jake Peavy apparently has more class than we gave him credit for. Clearly, he envisioned the moment when his pitching clinched a playoff spot for the White Sox and A.J. Pierzynski ran out to the mound and embraced him. It would make me shudder too. This vision of the future was apparently too much for Jake to countenance.
