Had no problem with pre race coverage ,churchill downs had a full day of stakes races ...And each race is in numerical order starting with race one going through race whatever usually 10 or so.. They are as far as I know always 20 minutes apart...so it really wouldnt have been real hard to figure out what time the derby would be run..And heres a shocking revelation churchill downs has a phone ,,,,you can actually call and ask what time each race is scheduled for...You can even get on your lap top and pull it ..so next year wont be no hassle for you UNHAPPY ...My only problem was with our local coverage by KXAS TV here in Dallas they covered the race BUT ......Before the jockey even dissmounted they annouced breaking news and proceeded to show and tell about the Dallas cowboyS WEATHER incident that happened a couple of hours or so before the race..I never felt so dissrespected in all my life its as if they feel race fans are sub parr viewers ...Well I would like to say to KXAS TV IN DALLAS AND CHANNEL 5...if you cant devote the proper time to cover the super bowl of the sport of kings and be assured this is the superbowl of the sport ...well do the fans a favor and dont cover it again....ID BE WILLING TO BET YOU WERENT BEGGED TO COVER IT IN THE FIRST PLACE .....

@Unhappy, you know, I was thinking about that while watching all of the prerace stuff. Everyplace I found it listed online said post time was 6:04 ET. Obviously it was much later than that. That definitely stinks that you missed it.

NBC held us hostage for all of that time and since I had no idea of the race start time... it was NOT 6:04, it was like forcing people only interested in the race an dnot the myriad of trumped up boring to death stories they attempted to use to build up to the race... what happened, I went to go pee and when I returned the race was over... see, there was so much mess meshed into the race that I figured I had at least another 2 or 3 minutes... I did not... my lesson forget about the Kentucky Derby in the future. Never again will I even bother. I son't really watch horse racing anyway and to be held hostage on horrible programming that I in no way wanted to see to end up missing the race anyway... well I am quite angry over this and feel like an idiot... I was reading my book waiting for the race, but I kept it on NBC so when they lined up... boom, I'd catch it... so they got ratings from my viewership but I didn't get what I wanted... if I knew the time the race would begin, then I would NEVER have even turned to NBC until start time. They made a fool out of me this time, but guess what? NEVER AGAIN. I will NEVER EVER even attempt tp watch the Kentucky Derby again!
