@mark w., no worries, thanks a lot for the head's up. Spitting out thousands of words a day, a few are bound to slip through the cracks. I appreciate it.

Agreed on the women's seedings and selections. That looks a problem that needs to be fixed. I do have to say though, regardless of how commercial the tournaments have become, I still get just as excited each March as I did when I was a little kid. The drama and the passion is there in every game. Now, all the stuff surrounding the games -- that's another story. But when the teams are out there on the court, it's still magic.

I don't wish to become your spelling editor but it's MaraviCh, not Maravish...

The NCAA men's and women's basketball tourneys are so $$$$$ oriented that I have a problem getting excited about them like I did 30-40 years ago. The women's seedings and site selections are almost humorous when one considers that this SHOULD be equal competition.

I looked a lot of places before I found the dates and times for all the first round women's games. Thanks for getting it posted so quickly.

What's wrong with ads? If not for ads, the internet would be of very little value, because nobody (other than academics) would post anything out here. Don't like the ads? Don't click 'em!

@mark w., now THAT'S the kind of attention to detail we like. Thanks for the head's up. It's been changed.

The way the women's bracket works is strange because of how they use so many college towns to host games and then try to keep teams close. Thus, if you are hosting a first round site, you can be a lower seed and essentially be playing a home game. I can see why they do it that way...but it certainly provides a disadvantage to higher seeds at certain points in the bracket.

@JRod, Correct the spelling of AlbUquerque in the top portion of your site listings.

BTW: Utah is deserving of a better seeding than a #9 seed, especially if TCU is a #10. Utah has to travel to Maryland while TCU gets to play in Lubbock, not next to Ft Worth but atleast within a 5-6 hour drive.

@jdavis, I apologize if you didn't find the information you were looking for. Here are a couple of other links regarding the women's tournament that we have posted since this post went up:

<a href="http://www.midwestsportsfans.com/2009/03/ncaa-tournament-mvp-most-outstanding-player-mop-men-women-march-madness/" rel="nofollow">History of Mens and Womens NCAA Tournament MOPs</a>

<a href="http://www.midwestsportsfans.com/2009/03/womens-basketball-championship-list-most-titles-tennessee-uconn/" rel="nofollow">History of Womens NCAA Tournament champions</a>

You are correct that there are lots of ads on this site. And some of our posts are designed to leverage specific information that people look for with advertising.

I guess my question to you is: why is that so bad?

This blog is not my main job or source of income, but I probably spend 5-7 hours on it per day. Because I absolutely love doing it. If I wasn't able to generate some revenue from it, I wouldn't be able to focus as much time on it as I do. And we're still really new, and don't have a whole lot of name recognition to get site sponsorship from big money advertisers in a down economy.

I wish we could keep things a little cleaner and not have so much advertising on it. But at the expense of losing revenue, and thus not being able to continue my daily labor of love with MSF, it's a tradeoff I'm willing to make.

I encourage you to explore our site if you haven't and read some of the content that is written just to be content, with no extra advertising. I think our team of volunteer writers do a good job of covering interesting and unique stories in the sports world. And we certainly hope that as MSF grows, we can focus more on aesthetics than advertising. But right now, every click-through and every impression helps and allows us to justify the time spent.

Thanks for your visit and comment jdavis. I hope that you will come back and visit us and give MSF a chance to prove that while you certainly can call it "just another money site" if you wish, you can call it "just another site written by people who love sports, love writing about their teams, and love the challenge of publishing content that will offer value and entertainment to readers."

We'll keep trying to win you and every other reader over. Hopefully we'll earn more of your time at some point in the future.

Enjoy the conference tournaments this weekend.
