Shouldn't your list of Super Bowl winners/losers be updated? It's a couple years behind. 2011 and 1012 shows no team(s).

The Super Bowl came about because the American Football League began play in 1960 and offered fans another choice for major-league-level professional football in the United States. In 1966, the AFL and the National Football League agreed on terms for a merger. One of those was the NFL-AFL World Championship Game played after the rival leagues' championship games. Lamar Hunt, a founding owner of the AFL (Dallas Texans/Kansas City Chiefs), thought the name of a rubber ball with a highly charged center that his kids had, with the brand name Superball, would work, under the name Super Bowl, for the NFL-AFL World Championship Game. The two leagues split the four meetings their championship teams had. The National Football League has continued to use the name Super Bowl for the NFL Championship Game since the merger was complete, beginning with the 1970 season. When I think Super Bowl, I think of the AFL; if it weren't for the AFL, there would be no Super Bowl.

I'm just happy that everytime my team went to the super bowl, they won! It doesn't matter to me that other teams have been there more than my 49ers have...it matters to me that everytime we did go, we walked away winners! Just wish those days were back again. Hopefully Singletary will bring some gold back to my 49ers!!!

@Miami Dol-Phan, you are absolutely correct. Assuming you aren't seeing a cached page, the post should reflect the changes. It's always great to have a Dolphins fan visiting the site; they were my first NFL love. And I'm hopeful that they'll keep taking steps forward next year.

Actually, the Cowboys (8) and Steelers (7) have combined for 15 appearances (not 17) and 11 wins.

"If there is a Super Bowl that doesn’t include Pittsburgh or Dallas, it’s a suprise. Goodness. Counting this year, the two teams will have combined for 17 appearances and 11 titles (if Pittsburgh beats Arizona.)"
-----------------------------

Yep, when you think Super Bowl, you think Pittsburgh.

Maybe they should change the name to the "Steeler Bowl." Has a nice ring, don't you think?
