@Illinoisbaseball, good point about the golf. There is probably a pretty good reason why many pitchers are good golfers, because the ideas of repeating the same motion over and over for success are so closely aligned in the two sports. Perhaps that could be a path to correcting some of Rich Hill's issues. I know this, I'd love to him go down to the minors for the White Sox and then at some point get to work with Don Cooper. The guy has a lot of potential and you hope he can harness it again.

I did forget to mention in the article that, if there is someone who might have the best personal experience as far as to be exact with that same delivery, it is Ron Guidry. Gator had that same tilt from the left side:

Guidry didn't have great control, but it didn't prevent him from becoming an outstanding pitcher or in Hill's case a #2/#3 starter.

I think it is, Piniella has obviously fallen out of favor with Hill (for good reason as it's not his job to try and correct Hill), the Cubs have about 5 options for that 5th starter ahead of Hill, and Hill is out of options.

As I had mentioned in the article Kranitz is great with mechanics and is great to work with from a pitcher's standpoint.

It'll be a difficult task for Kranitz as I'm sure Hill has been shaken mentally, but they'll have to find that delivery he had as progress mentally with him.

Rich Hill is an amazing golfer, probably the best in baseball, and I just wonder if somehow they can try and incorporate a similar thought process as far as maintaining a similar swing each stroke to repeating the same delivery as well as maintain confidence golfing even after a poor shot and rebounding for par.

Great analysis. It sounds the classic case of needing a fresh start somewhere, and with the previous relationship with the O's pitching coach, it sounds like a trade could be the best option for Hill.
