Jamal Lewis Upset After Browns Thursday Night Loss to Broncos

Jamal Lewis Upset After LossCleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis had a few critical words for his teammates in the aftermath of the 34-30 debacle Thursday night against Denver. Within two weeks the Browns defense managed to blow a 14-point lead against Baltimore and a 13-point lead last night.

Jamal Lewis, curiously was not used in the Browns last ditch effort to score with less than a minute to go and two time-outs, stalling, instead, with incomplete passes at second, third and fourth-and-one.

Should Brady Quinn have called an audible and gone long?

A debate for another day.

After the game a frustrated Jamal Lewis, according to WKNR-AM 850, said some of his teammates need to “check their egos at the door … and play with heart. This is a man’s game.”

Ironically Head Coach Romeo Crennel said he told his players at halftime not to repeat its past mistakes and “finish the game this time.”

Apparently, no one was listening.

As expected WKNR’s Really Big Show was flooded with callers demanding Crennel be fired. But there appears to be no one out there waiting in the wings so this is unlikely.

Crennel has called a press conference for 1 p.m. today. But it is doubtful there will be any major announcements.
