Fantasy Football: Willie Parker Injury Update

Willie Parker Injury Update Week 10

(Update 11/12, 12:15PM: According to head coach Mike Tomlin, Willie Parker’s knee is no longer an issue and his shoulder injury is not a torn labrum.  Parker is expected to play this Sunday after being fitted for a shoulder harness.  For more on Willie Parker and other fantasy football injury news, head over to the Fantasy Sports Blog.)

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Willie Parker returned last week from being injured to play for the Steelers in their win over the Redskins. Unfortunately for the Steelers and for fantasy football owners who have Parker on their team, Willie Parker injured his shoulder on Monday night.

The shoulder injury will lead to Parker sitting out Sunday when the Steelers take on the Colts.

Parker is not sure how he injured the shoulder, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, but it does not appear that it will sideline him for too long. He is expected to be ready for next week and Mewelde Moore will fill in for this week. If we are lucky, perhaps our good friend Fraschetti will chime in with a comment regarding the fantasy football impact of the Willie Parker injury.

In other Steelers injury news, all of the following players did not practice yesterday: Hines Ward, LaMarr Woodley, DeShea Townsend, and Marvel Smith. All except for Smith are expected to play.

Also, quarterback Terry Bradshaw may still be suffering from a concussion after being tackled by Cleveland Brown Turkey Jones. Check out the video of the Turkey Jones hit on Terry Bradshaw.
