Brady Quinn Week 10 Fantasy Value – Browns v Denver | Derek Anderson Benched
Brady Quinn is now the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns! Derek Anderson is benched! (Even though Trent Dilfer doens’t think he should be.)
I have been calling for this to take place for months, I just find the timing of this to be odd. The perfect time for this to have been done would have been at half time of the Redskins game after the most horrific half by Anderson that I have ever seen. Make a statement to the team that if you don’t produce, you will find the bench. But to do this after you denied even having the thought only to do just that a day later… Oh well, what’s done is done and lets focus on Brady Quinn’s fantasy value.
The Browns gave away their 2008 draft to obtain him in 2007. He has had two years in this offensive system and has always performed well in game situations when given the opportunity. Quinn has been open about the fact that he does not view himself as a backup quarterback, and is always striving to be the starting quarterback in Cleveland.
Here is his chance.
Quinn must perform to keep his job, and he has the physical tools to do so, as well as a stacked offense, at least on paper. Quinn will be facing the Broncos defense this Thursday. The short week will make this start more difficult than a normal week due to who they are facing. The Broncos have allowed the following QB’s to produce the following numbers;
Week 9-Chad Pennington, 281 yards passing and 341 yards of total offense
Week 8-Bye
Week 7-Matt Cassell and his breakout game, 185 yards passing and 3 TD’s, 404 total yards of offense
Week 6-David Gerrard, 276 yards passing and a TD, 416 total yards of offense
You get the point. If Quinn is going to be successful, he could not have asked for a more suspect “D” to face this week. Quinn should be a good bye week filler or a good flex option. Check back with us on Wednesday for more sleeper options!

This question was emailed to me;
First I had Tony Romo. He got hurt, so I replaced him with Matt Schaub. He got hurt. Then I pick up Sage Rosenfels and Brady Quinn at the same time.
I am trying to figure out this: who do you think I should start: Sage Rosenfels against the tough Baltimore D with great weapons around him or Brady Quinn against porous Denver D with decent weapons who drop the ball a lot? How come? Thanks.
What a great question. This is hard for me to answer for one reason, this question involves my heart as I am a Browns fan. Based on what I have seen out of Brady Quinn, he should be a good start against the Broncos. I am however concerned that the offensive coordinator will not attack the game the same way as he does with Anderson in. This is a problem I have observed throughout Quinn’s Browns career.
The Ravens D is minus both of their starting cornerbacks, and being thrown on is thier only vulnerability at this point. The key to Rosenfels success is his offensive line. If given time, he will hurt you. If pressured, your screwed! The Texans should be forced to throw as I do not see the running game ever taking off for them.
I am cautious when I tell you this, but I like Quinn’s upside this week against the Broncos. Sage will never be the starter if Schaub is healthy and Quinn now has all of the motivation in the world to produce. Again, this is coming from a die hard, mostly pessimistic Browns fan.
