KVB,

I think you may have misunderstood the essence of my article.

Favre IS an overachieving QB, and very deserving of some kind of quality reputaion, but he has NOT achieved enough to excuse his behavior over the past 2 months. And passing records are not the same as championships. Not even close. If they were, then Bernie Kosar would be viewed as the golden god that he truly was...

My "priorities" are straight, I assure you, even though the majority of the White Sox are NOT.

How many Super Bowls does it take to gain the respect of a blog critic??? Reggie White was a badass but the Ravens had a game changing defense, no matter how many people he stabbed earlier that year. Get your priorities straight. Farve is an overachiever more than a overrated QB.

I think everyone is at fault in this situation. I agree with your assessment that Favre begin to believe he was above the team and deserved special treatment, but I also think a large chunk of the blame goes at the feet of Ted Thompson. He drafted Aaron Rodgers and clearly wants to look like a genius by having Rodgers take over and excel. He saw his shot when Brett announced his retirement and was unwilling to consider other options. Unfortunately, Mike McCarthy is caught in the middle. I think he knows Brett gives them the best chance to win, but does not want someone on his team who acts like he is bigger than the team. And Ted Thompson is nowhere to be found when the tough questions needs to be answered...he lets McCarthy stand out there and do it, even though I think part of McCarthy is torn, considering that he and Brett have been friends for a while. All in all, it's big f'ing mess and there is plenty of blame to go around. But there is no doubt that Brett Favre has tarnished his legacy in the process.
