@JRod, No bragging here… classy reply. If we make the playoffs or not, I do think this team (ravens)is only going to get better next year. Harbaugh will get rid of a few undisciplined head cases, left over from the Billick days and pickup that big receiver from draft or FA the team needs.

@Ray Lewis 52, I stand wholeheartedly corrected. Joe Flacco has been 10 times better than Derek Anderson this year and Baltimore beat the Browns twice. The roles could very easily be reversed next season (as they were last year — the NFL is crazy like that) but you have the bragging rights this year. Brag away.

I would just like to state, for the record, that I am ashamed and embarrased to have written this article. Like many Browns fans, I drank the kool-aid of the 10-6 season and somehow allowed that to blind me from objective, reasonable analysis. While much of what I said in this post was tongue-in-cheek and admittedly Browns-centric, re-reading it makes me wonder if I temporarly lost the function of my brain.

I stood up for Derek Anderson and for the Browns, laying my credibility on the line, and they repaid me by shoving a bottle of 5 hour energy up ass like a suppository. At least that’s what the 2008 season has figuratively felt like.

I wrote this post thinking it would be my big I-Told-You-So at the end of the season. Not so much. Joe Flacco has been awesome for a rookie, and Big Ben is the QB of the first place team. Can’t argue Derek Anderson over him now. Carson Palmer? Well, he’s still a flaming hot dog deep throater.

Not a good year for football in Ohio (no comebacks necessary MNRC – I already know what you’re going to say.)

I think it’s hilarious that I made this post completely tongue-in-cheek and it has generated this kind of response. Look, I thought D.A. would play better this year, but no one in their right mind could say he’s better than Roethlisberger yet. I don’t particularly like Roethlisberger, but he’s a really good QB and been very successful to this point in his career.

I think D.A. can and will turn it around and recapture some of rhythm he had with his WRs last season, but he has a long way to go to enter any kind of serious debate with Roethlisberger.

However, I am quite glad that you have proven to be so defensive on the subject because it has generated some lively and entertaining commenting. My question is when are you going to step up and write a post about the Steelers that we can publish here at Midwest Sports Fans. You’ve done lots of commenting on others’ posts…why not put one out there of your own???
